Had previously bought the Humboldt blend from Costco and found it to be a really good for espresso and lattes using a Breville Oracle machine. They are a close second to my current favorite coffee beans (BB Giant Steps). So why only 3-stars? The exact same blend purchased (12oz) purchased direct from MWCC tasted nothing like the bag from Costco. Maybe it's a one off issue, but I see that as a consistency issue. Side by side the roasting level and aroma of the beans look/smell different. There is no roasting date on the bag, so maybe these beans were just sitting longer on the shelf. For now, I'll stick with the bag from Costco and hope it stays consistent there. Happy to try this and other blends direct from MWCC if I can have some assurance of consistency and freshness (say roasted within a week of delivery).
Bag from Costco - taste (4stars) and consistency (5stars)
bag from MWCC - taste (3stars) and consistency (3stars)
Saw this coffee at Costco. It’s organic, whole bean, medium roasted. Hard to find medium roasted coffee beans. My husband makes the coffee in the morning and I fill up the cup half way and fill the remainder of the cup with hot water to try to cut the bitter taste. He claimed the coffee wasn’t bitter until he made and tried the Humboldt blend. He says this is the best coffee he’s had. No bitterness no matter the amount of coffee he uses. I couldn’t find it at Costco when I was getting low on beans, so ordered it directly from Muddy Waters. It’s now back at Costco, yay!
