From the home of coffee to the home of your morning cup...

Coffee, as we know, is native to the Ethiopia highlands. That would make all other varieties children - cultivars - of the Ethiopian coffee bean. (The Yemenis are supposed to be the first to brew coffee, and today Yemen grows one of the world's best coffees - if you can find it, if you can afford it, and if they would stop killing each other and get back to the business of making a killing exporting beans. I mean, let's face it, war is bad for business. What's bad for business, is bad for coffee, and what's bad for coffee, is not good for the challenge of getting out of bed in the morning - and that's bad enough as it is.) If you like the idea of going back to source - and who doesn't - back to the birthplace of the coffee bean, the African-Arab source, then you'll want to grind yourself some fresh Ethiopian beans. French press or drip, either way, I can't imagine you'll be disappointed. Small-farmed Ethiopians (not intensive-farmed and monocroped sameness coffee) have the right blend of body and acidity to satisfy. In short, the more you know about coffee - the more Ethiopian coffee beans beckon.

ABOUT THIS COFFEE:
Ethiopian legend has it that coffee was discovered by a goat herder named Kaldi, who found his goats frolicking and full of energy after eating the red berries of the coffee shrub.  Kaldi tried some of the berries for himself and had a similar reaction.  Coffee was born! Single origin Ethiopian coffee at it's finest. Farmers let the coffee fruit dry like raisins around the seed.  Unusually, many of these farmers will then roast and grind their own harvest. Ethiopia is the worlds only major coffee producing country whose volume of consumption equals it's export.

ORIGIN:
100% Single Origin Ethiopia

TASTING NOTES:
Sweet Tropical Fruit, Wine, Chocolate - Delicate

100% Fair trade & Organic
